Your thoughts on the lava planet that was discovered?

I think it is very interesting! However, seeing other planets out there brings up a lot more questions as to what can be living on them. I seriously doubt anything will be adapting to the lava ocean, nor am I implying that entities are living on there, but other planets. Gogo Alien (I use alien lightly) Warfare!

my browser instantly redirects me to the weather, dafuq msn.

Who cares. The thread is about a planet, not the weather. I only came across this randomly anyway, I hate looking at the weather or news if it doesn't interest me.

Link just doesn't work, oh well, lava is hot, that's all what I have to say about this subject anyways.

it redirects to the weather, but you can see the link if you stop
it loading before it redirects. :)

it is interesting that it is so close to the sun and still survives, but
nothing really amazes me about the universe since it is a giant
possibility machine and anything is possible.

there would be some kind of subsurface life of course where
there is heat there is life. :)

They find new plantes all the time and they will continue to. Also as technology develops we will be able to see further in space which means finding more planets. As you said I dont think a lava planet is habitable but you never know, the universe has so many untold/unseen secrets that we just arent ready to take part of.

Some planets must not be important if they find them all the time. This is the first time I've seen a planet being found in forever. :/

Well just because we the human race think it's not important doesent mean it is. There are so many theories we could discuss such as parallel universes that we cant take part of because of our limitations. Besides who knows that planet might be extremely important to a alien race or something.

The term 'Alien' is overused. If we do come across another race, I'm sure they have a name.. calling them Aliens wouldn't be right. Besides, "Aliens" is used just to scam people with Movies, TShirts, etc.. not as a civilization that hasn't been discovered yet.

What we need to do besides looking at shit with a telescope is build a nice spaceship that can explore the universe. I'd love to do that. :D

I've always been interested in this space stuff. Remember when I got my first book about the universe when I was 6-7.
NASA has discovered some planets that MAY be inhabitable. Those planets are incredibly similar to Earth. The most similar planet found is 96% similar to Earth! But, it's like 1000 lightyears away. Have you ever heard about the Mars One project? (search for it on youtube)

Their plan is to colonize Mars in 2023 by sending 4 astronauts there, and then 4 more every 2 years afterwards. Those astronauts are meant to live their whole life on Mars, since we only have the technology to send them there, not return them.
