[SOLVED] [Cataclysm] 4.3.4 Possible Item Addition

As the title says, I have attempted to add items to my server, which I play on alone, to no avail. I see on some forums that adding items to Cataclysm doesn't work but then most of the info I see is old, and I was wondering if anyone here can give me a clear answer rather it is possible to add custom items to the database. If it is possible, what do I need to do? I have had no luck finding a template editor for the DB2 files in the database folder either. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

As far as i know, the items requiring to be patched is not 100% needed for cataclysm, as i have a few that can be used and are not in the patch, adding items to the item_template will load them ingame, TrinityCore 4.3.4 loads both item-sparse and the database.

Thank you for the quick response, so if I add the item into the item_template in the database I should be able to load it into the game without patching or editing database files?

There's already items in the item_template table, so no, nothing should happen. I'm not quite sure about the item icon though, but that's probably the less of your worries.

Nope, if its 4.3.4 it will show the icon (atleast mine do) but you'll prob want to patch at it at some point to stop the "retrieving item information" showing up sometimes.

Double check the displayid of the item and make sure it matches the item_template table too. Sometimes people make mistakes lol
