creating a server? what should i do?

hi all^^

ok the thing i wonder is this, now i have all things i need to test open a server. YaY but from what i know and can see 3.3.5 is over used in this types: i80 255 and blizzlike. so i wonder and need abit of help on what version and thing i should go for. Ofc if you help me pic one versiona nd so on you can allways help me out, cuz i need staff and so on^^


ok this is what i have been thinking of:

1.12.1 i60
1.12.1 255
2.4.3 twink 60
2.4.3 i70
3.2.2 i80
3.3.5 twink 70
3.3.5 i80 what 3.2.2 features

ok and know i just want to know what you think should be cool to play on.

1.12.1, i cant complite this core yet cuz they have changed it and moved it to Cmake.

2.4.3, i'm not sure on what core i sholuld use cuz it looks like they are more or less dead, noone is intressted in them.

3.2.2, i have the leatest trinitycore, only that i can update and fixing stuffs cuz its the old way trinity scripted and so.

3.3.5, i ahve started on makeing a twink 70 there: ia hve added gear and so on, and i ahve some scripts too.

3.3.5a I80 is pointless, there are a ton fo servers for it already and the odds of them leaving a realm they have established characters on and joining yours is pretty slim, so mark that one off. 1.12.1 255 would be weird, but I think there is a bit of a market for I60 if you make the server correctly. Wouldn't recommend 3.2.2 either.

I don't know much about the 2.4.3 market, so I can't assist you much with that, but I think there might be some room for a 335 twink 70.

CMake makes building across platforms super easy though, and it's pretty simple to understand. If you're able to build TrinityCore then you should have no problem using CMake with the 1.12.1 emulators too.

1. (1.12.1) ~ How come you can't compile it? CMake isn't hard to understand, all you need to do is link the directory that has the cmake folder in it, supply a build directory and configure/generate. If you need further help with it, you can always create a support thread.

2. (2.4.3) ~ Most of the older projects are going to seem dead, but they are pretty alive if you make a server with it. So, don't think that people aren't interested.

3. (3.2.2) ~ I don't see this as a popular patch, that's just my opinion though.

4. (3.3.5) ~ It's great to start a server with this patch if you have a decent idea to keep people playing, rather than the boring questing, leveling, PvP'ing, etc.

If you're just looking for a player base without a unique aspect to your server, you're better off doing Cataclysm or greater. However, if you like a player base by having unique content so players won't get so bored, you want to pick a stable patch, preferably 3.3.5 or less. The server ideas you have are quite old and redundant for players to enjoy. You need to have something special in your server for players to enjoy, refer to other players and stay on without becoming bored.

Do you have other ideas planned besides instant XX, twinking, etc?
