[SOLVED] Forcing an NPC to attack with range

As the title states I'm trying to force a creature to attack with range and not with melee.

I've tried setting the Melee variance to 0, and then Only setting range values but the NPC will still charge at the NPC. I'm trying to make this happen with the Database as requiring this to be done with a script will make this mini-game that much more inconvenient xD

I'm using a fresh source of Eluna, compiled yesterday so my database is updated to the newest structure and I just can't get it figured out.

Any help is appreciated,

Thank you

I don't think NPC ranged attacks (w/bows, guns, etc) works at all on TC, or at least I've never seen it work. Ever.

Well that would explain why, seems pointless to have the range damage option in the database though.

Pretty much. They've been doing all these other crappy updates to TC and they have failed to do one of the most important implementation in WoW for Npcs..

The database (range fields) do not specify what is used to perform the ranged attack. Since not all classes have a ranged "auto-attack", you have to specify the spells you want the npc to use as its ranged attack.

This is where the use of SmartAI is handy as you can specify ranged attacks for caster classes, including combination casting. Just watch your "cool down" settings or you'll have a npc spamming a spell very fast.
