Nexus-Defense - Progress on my 2d game

UPDATE: I had surgery early this morning, and surprisingly I'm not in that much pain. So I might try to get some updates release for my game. :)

I recently put more thought into Nexus-Defense, and I have decided not to make it level based since my original idea was to make the first 10 levels of the game, where you would have to kill X amount of mobs to progress though the game until you get to the last level.

For the time being, I've decided to make the game one level only, but I will add things in it so it'll be fun and enjoyable to play. Such as a level system, kinda like in World Of Warcraft where you will have to get X amount of experience points in order to level to the next level. I also made a pause button which will be released in the next updates, so you are able to pause the game for X amount of minutes. I have a few more ideas in thought, and I will share them with everyone who is following my game development progression.

one gig I found is there is no indication of loosing a man.
how about the ship flash for 5 seconds while being immune and unable to fire. basically just enough time to maneuver to a safe spot to respawn.
also a thought , maybe allow each round fired heat up the gun for x amount of degrees for x amount of milliseconds allowing a chance of over-heating and then the gun wont fire until its below x temperature, then the player would have to be efficient with there shots.

Hmm those are some pretty neat ideas, I might look into adding some if not all of them :p

I don't like this considering it's not 'one shot, kill'. Add ammo. You start off with X amount of ammo and you can pick up ammo and other special things from dead aliens such as health packs, damage buffs, speed buffs, etc. I saw somewhere you mentioned levels, that would be good. Every three levels the aliens get harder to kill. Every level you get a random passive perk. Inc speed, inc dmg, inc health, etc.

first place your mouse pointer about 1/4 to 1/8 inch in front of your gun muzzle.
then using only the arrow keys you press and HOLD infinitely your down arrow while rapidly tapping the space bar and your ship wil spaz out and fire insanely to 1 direction hitting any alien that comes from that direction.

Oh wow, thank you for telling me. :) I'm working on the newest updates, and adding a few extra things in it to make it more fun. :p

add upgradeable guns!!! from 1 to 2 etc! add nukes and stuff too lol, this game is addicting.

Haha I heard that from a few people about the game being addicting. I have heard a number of different times about upgradable guns and maybe a nuke, which I plan to work on in the upcoming updates. :p

i cant wait to see the nuke hahaha you should make is so when they almost complete a level they get surrounded by aliens and can activate the nuke to destroy them haha
that way if they accidently dont capture the nuke as it flys passed them or if they use it too early they lose the level hahahaha

i have many ideas. later when im not coding ill post some of my ideas, i almost have a new idea every hour, im very much a creative thinker but not a coder lol

I'm open for all new ideas, I haven't been very active on Nexus-Defense since my surgery late last month. But I'm pretty much fully healed up now, and I plan to get back to work on it!

I was starting to worry this was, "just another one of those phases." :p
