Thoughts on the new consoles? Are you getting one? Which One do you think is better?

*Discussion between those two, and not PCs.*

I dislike the route xbox took this round. If I were to get one it would be PS4, but that's when the console gets cheaper..

Xbox One, and the PS4 are both running AMD Hardware. Xbox One, I think has better features, and the way they're doing the Indie Games is a good way to stop scammers, and shitty games. I think its pretty awesome to be able to run a game, and watch a youtube tutorial on the same screen. I think it waste less time, and in the long run worth the money. The only issue I have with the Xbox One is that they use a crapper type of ram then the PS4, but games that are coming out on it won't use it for years anyways.

If I get a console, I would only play games on it and use a PC for other things such as looking at another screen (monitor) & multitasking. As far as I know, Microsoft is a money whore, so you'll spend a ton of money just to play online and do what you want. However, the playstation network (PSX) is free which makes it more superior than the Xbox One / Other in general. That's the online aspect which Sony has a huge overtake on that. I can't tell what graphics are good (unless they are horrible then I can) considering they all look good to me, I judge by gameplay, not graphics. However, some games are limited to one console which makes them the best candidate to choose from (if you're up to playing single player on the Xbox One seeing you have to pay a subscription for online play).

If I had to choose, I'd get the PS4 instead of the Xbox One just because it is pointless to basically play multiplayer, etc. Besides, over the years I grew custom to the Xbox controller and somewhat dislike it because the fact it has batteries, whilst the PS4 will have a USB recharger for it's controller.

Overall, I think you will waste more money on the Xbox series (including Xbox One) rather than the PS series (including PS4). I'm done with consoles, can't be asked to waste anymore money on one.

There are hardly any legitimate reasons to choose between Xbox One or PS4 just simply put it honestly comes down to personal preference. I couldn't choose so quite frankly I pre-ordered both but here's the Facts, PSN is not free anymore. While it is still less than the cost of Xbox Live, at least to my knowledge as of writing this I have found that my personal preference sides more with Xbox live. I find the user experience just that much better and much more interesting. One of the main reasons to pick the Xbone is that multitasking capabilities of the console and the OS. There are some great features to both consoles and again only personal preference could really sway an individual. Now lets get down to the Hardware...They're nearly identical except for one thing, the PS4 is running DDR5 while the Xbox One is running on DDR3, what's the difference? Well here's the difference it COULD and i mean COULD make. Due to the fact that DDR5 has significantly higher bandwidth than DDR3 we should expect better performance all around right? Well not quite, my personal hypothesis is that for years the Xbox One and PS4 will look identical in their graphics and gameplay when compared side by side, now when we reach the late stages of these consoles we could possibly see Graphic Performance increase on the PS4 rather than the Xbox One. Why is that? Well the PS4 has faster and more powerful memory than the Xbox One, allowing the graphics to be ran with higher detail on the PS4 vs The Xbox. Now here the reality, both these consoles have very moderate specs when compared to PC's but it's definitely new to see such "powerful" hardware in a gaming console. It will not be till the very end of these consoles life spans that we see what they are full capable of producing. All this being accounted for, you should pick the console that appeals most to you. You will not be disappointed with either console nor with either set of features.

Well.... my cousin got a PS4.. bricked out of the box so we're impatiently waiting for sony to send it back. QQ But all in all it's a game console and chances are it's going to be used to watch netflix most of the time anyway. :p
