PC Build

Have been wanting a new PC for some time now and am sure it will be some time before I actually convince myself to buy one, but was looking anyway. Was debating buying one of the barebones. Something like this from Tiger Direct http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9096867&CatId=31

Walmart also had something that seemed decent, but not sure about the brand (not a barebone) http://www.walmart.com/ip/iBUYPOWER-Black-Gamer-WA983R7-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i5-4460-Processor-8GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-8.1-Monitor-Not-Included/43155417

Opinions on going this route versus building my own? Will I get more for my money with building a custom pc, or just grab a pre packaged deal?

Don't ever get anything from Wal-Mart. Build it by going to either newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, preferably newegg. Looks like you're wanting a pre-build package, right? The tigerdirect link, I don't see anything about a graphics card, unless I'm overlooking it. If you already have a case to support a new motherboard, etc, I wouldn't recommend getting a bundle with a case. What are you planning to do? Game? Gaming would require a decent graphics card, unless you have that cover and you're just purchasing this package. You can obviously upgrade overtime because I'd recommend getting more than 8GB of RAM and 1TB of space.

But, more information on what you're going for (Gaming, just for program usage, etc) would be beneficial.

Not sure about the link, seems to work for me. As far as what I am wanting to do. The only game I play is WoW, but even that is limited lately. I'd like it to be able to play that without any hiccups, but not too concerned with that at the moment, my current laptop plays it just fine. Really I would be looking for a Dev type computer. Something that can handle development for WoW. Something that can compile in less then an hour...My current setup seems to take forever.

It doesn't have to be pre-built, was just weighing the options. Wasn't sure if I would get more for my money by buying a pre-built/pre-packaged, vs. buying parts and building.

What? I didn't complain about any link. Re-read what I wrote.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, you're better off parting out and building an i7 system
