It is outdated guide. It instructs you about ACE and ACE has not been in use for almost a year.
The guide is also from 2013.

Why not use the official guide that is uptodate?

And about censoring, the rules do not permit it:
Section: 1E 17.

Alright, thanks.

I've followed the guide which is outdated till the step where it says:

Code:
[B]"Compiling Trinity Core:"[/B]
I'm currently compiling, at 31%/100%. No errors yet. Should I abort and start all over?

edit: Looking at the guide you linked, its pretty much the exact same guide just without the ACE stuff. :) So, what should I do after i've downloaded ACE? Does it matter if it's on my host?

It doesnt matter if ACE is there, but it isnt needed so you can delete it if you want.

In general compiling has staid the same like forever. However the requirements are different and installing those requirements vary.
So overall old guides work, but you likely get into trouble since they dont instruct you to install boost for example or other dependencies or instruct you to use wrong compiler versions and so.

PS. do note that the guide doesnt instruct you to switch branches or anything so you might be compiling 6.x branch.
Switch to 3.3.5 or 4.3.4 if you want those.
